This house offered great features that were easily overlooked by the outdated fixtures and the tired decor. It has been used as a vacation home for years and the owners had not made any changes in the home for quite a long time. We had a budget of $ 20,000 for renovations and staging of this property and started with some of the basics. We removed the pink carpet and replaced the dated white 12” tiles with nice oversized 20” x 20” travertine look porcelain floor tiles.

Since those Tiles were rectified (means cut after the curing and glazing process) they could be laid like natural stone with a minimal grout line.
The fireplace received a facelift with the same floor tiles as well as sparkling glass mosaic tiles. The edges were finished of with marble bull nose.
We replaced all the old furnishings with more modern decoration

We had the counters in the kitchen replaced with rich Granite Counter slabs and replaced all the appliances with new stainless steel appliances.

The bathroom below had dated wallpaper and outdated builders grade cabinets. We replaced the vanity, and installed a beveled furniture mirror. The bathtub got re-glazed for a crisp fresh look. For less than a thousand dollars we got a complete brand new look that rivals expensive custom installations in new homes.

By just removing the dated wallpaper as seen above we were able to shave off years of the perceived age on this beautiful property. The new nook now shows a stylish halogen chandelier and modern dining space. We removed the vertical blinds and installed soft white sheers which now provide privacy while allowing soft natural light to illuminate this fantastic space.

In the master suite we opened the vertical blinds to showcase the fantastic lake views. After replacing the heavy and dated oak furniture with contemporary pieces the bedroom looks nice and inviting. Luxurious bedding invoke the impression of a boutique hotel. We chose to simplify by using a mattress set with an upholstered headboard rather than cluttering the space with a large bedroom suite.
