Rustic cabin fever

Rustic cabin fever – When it comes to interior design, the term rustic has as many meanings as there are experts elaborating on it. For designer Helene Bonello-Strauss rustic means the implementation of some rough unfinished surfaces and materials in the design. Case and point: The two story 3 bedroom home on 930 Lexington Road in Deland, Florida just an hour northeast of Orlando. The rustic elements are the coral stone fireplace and rough cedar elements that are original to the house. In her design these elements play a vital role in the re-design of the house. She wanted to retain the integrity of the dramatic architecture and enhance those original features with a more modern take. The kitchen had been opened to allow for a more open flow and created a more spacious appeal of the living area. Gone are the days where the kitchen was tucked away behind closed doors to not been seen. In today’s world kitchens have evolved to social hubs in the house and the center of the party. This house with its dramatic whitewashed cedar ceiling and updated features offers a lot for its modest $ 260k asking price. Fantastic 70s architecture does not have to rely on shag carpet for a stylish look. The property is available for private showings upon request.
